iAudioguide.com has a free mp3 audioguide to Barcelona. I haven’t had time to check it out yet (… currently weighed down by a 150 page powerpoint translation from hell…) but if anyone uses it some time do come back and tell us what you think.

Have listened to some of the audiotour and was a little disappointed. The reader seems simply to be reading from a Barcelona guidebook. No indication is given of how long any particular tour might take. For instance no distiction is made between Casa Mila which you could probably do in a couple of hours, and Monjuic which needs a couple of days. An audio tour given whilst actually on site would have been much better (a la NFS)
An enhanced podcast would be the ideal – sound playing and a series od still photos taken on the actual tour in the bottom left hand corner of itunes, where you would usually find album art.
Anyone in Barí§a fancy the gig?

Isn’t a 150 slide PowerPoint presentation kinda defeating the point? Sounds like you need Word instead.

Tell me about it! Or better still, tell the client about it!

Can you imagine being in the audience when someone is talking to a 150 slide presentation? I once had a client that did everything in Excel – that was a nightmare too….

Powerpoint is a nightmare, it should be banned from all walks of life. I mean well I have seen a few good powerpoints, but 99% of the people, just don’t know how do do them correctly….

Reaction to Gary Child: I agree that an audioguide to Montjuic is very dense, but it is meant to give an overview. Most others are (I hope) more specific. Your suggestion for adding pictures to the audioguide (for iPod users) will be taken up later, thanks for the comments.

Try the iJourneys.com mp3 walking tour of Barcelona. It’s fun, interesting, comprehensive and cool.

In what sense are these guides free? Looks to me like you have to pay 5 euros for them.
