Madrid-born bland pop/ballard singer, in the news constantly of late after the revelation that he has a secret 3 year old child with a woman who he said would remain private. Low and behold, last weeks Hola Magazine had the exclusive from the woman in question – Valeria Rivera – an unknown Puerto Rican who suddenly found herself Spain’s most wanted magazine fodder. The controversy was heightened by the fact that the child was born while Alejandro was still married to Jaydy Mitchell, the Mexican model, who’s now maintaining her silence in order to increase the "wronged woman effect†(copyright Liz Hurley 1995 ☺). When news of the secret child broke, the sweat was visible on poor Jaime Cantizano’s (presenter of ¿Dónde estás corazón?) normally perfect forehead, and the show has since devoted endless dull hours of random speculation on the subject. In Friday’s edition, they managed to get Valeria on the phone to grill her about her relationship. Poor old panel member Maria (see number 10 in our chart) could barely control herself as usual, and is probably seeking medical attention as we speak. Yep, and he does it with impressive levels of success!
For example, on that Donde Estás Corazón show that I’ve mentioned loads lately, they allow the viewers to send SMS messages which are then displayed on screen during the show. Most of the messages about Alejandro when the news broke about the lovechild, were along the lines of…
“A quien no le encantaría tener el hijo de Alejandro?? Llámame guapo!!! Estoy listo!! Te Quiero Mucho!”

… but let’s not forget that despite the news of the lovechild, Alejandro Sanz has always been in the top 10, thanks to his professional achievements.
What makes gossip so fierce this time, is the fact that people had always seen Sanz, professional side apart, as either a perfect husband or a perfect maricon. Having a lovechild is “so not Sanz” in people’s minds. So why not take advantage of the news?
Anyway, my point is to defend his professional achievements in Spain and in the world as a singer, songwriter and producer (and the winner of *several* grammies) — that’s what has made him a living legend in Spain… not all the stupid buzz about his private life.

Yep, agreed. He does of course sell well and is popular for more reasons than I’ve highlighted. I was just keeping things in the style of the mags I’ve been reading lately along with a heavy dose of sarcasm. It’s all very tongue-in-cheek and shouldn’t be taken too seriously
