That sets the bar pretty high! My first experience of Spain was landing at Granada airport one late Saturday afternoon September 1999, being told by our guide just to ditch our luggage at the hotel and head straight off to the bars in Granada. No need to think about a restaurant because of the free tapas. Much of these two entries sounds familiar from my experience but to be honest I can't quite remember exactly where we went (usually a good sign!). Next morning the astonishing Alhambra. For me, the one place to visit in Spain before you die.
