On the Spain blogs this week…

A few interesting snippets from some of my favourite Spain blogs this week:

Andalucid takes a trip down to Cabo de Gata, a corner of Spain well worth exploring.

Gabriella at Catavino.net decides it’s time to swot up on Iberian Wine.

Katie at España Profunda wonders what on earth happened on the Spanish roads this Easter.

South of Watford fills us in on the end of the Esperanza Aguirre tale – ‘Espe’ is the President of the Madrid regional government who can’t pay her heating bills.

Graeme also has some stunning photos of the Picos de Europa.

Finally, Nicholas Mead’s boiler packed up, leading to another classic run in with Spanish customer service.

Are you blogging about Spain? Have you got a favourite Spain blog? Let me know in the comments!

    Ben,

The last two links point to the photos of the Picos.

Im a real fan of NFS, probably my fave amongst all of the web sites, but one I picked up from a Guardian link is the quirky monks tales
…A sort of combination of history and local traditions, recently Alfonso Guerra visited his town and he blogged it here

… which as a history student In the UK, I thought I knew about the exiles in the Spanish Civil War, but this was fascinating. I would have loved to have been there. However…

But give me NFS over any of the others….

Traffic: With something like 70 km of queues around Valencia at one point it’s a wonder anyone was going fast enough to die! The weather must surely have been a contributory factor – or failure to slow down in the rain? The signing of roadworks, with people travelling outside the area they know, also leaves much to be desired.

Well, I’ve started my blog but I’m still stateside so it’s not too much about Spain yet. But my intention is to make it a journal of the trials and tribulations of the move and culture shock and all. I’m about 2 weeks out still, but my husband did rent an apartment today so that’s exciting!!

I’ve just started journaling about my growing up years in Arganda, southeast of Madrid. I hope to add more to it in time.

Hi Ben! I have started a blog about Spanish food, namely tapas, And I promise I didn’t copy your Tapas of the week idea but I am doing it too. I just got back from the states so I’m a bit behind! Hopefully I will have more info in the coming weeks. Un saludo! Janelle

Do the Canaries count as Spain? I’m in Lanzarote which has its own ways – but we still get all the hassle of Spanish bureaucracy, Telefonica, corruption etc etc etc. And do you know the Spanish Cockpit? A nice site.

Do the Canaries count? for me they do, but so does Valencia, and there are plenty of people in Valencia who don’t want to be Spanish, so it’s hard to know these days!

I just found this website and wanted to add my blog to the list of those blogging about Spain! I live in Sevilla and write my blog about my life here, it’s called Orange Blossoms & Cruzcampo. Enjoy! =)
