If Seattle-Portland-San Francisco were linked by a similar line, travel times between those cities would rival that of commuter flights when you factor in airline security and just getting to the airport and back. Instead of building a high-speed rail network we are building SUVs with 10 cylinders. I don't know what I hate more: driving or flying. P.S. The Madrid-Valencia line is projected for 2010 I believe.
