Looks fine to me - the icons are surrounded by a blue box which seems out of tune with the general corporate colour scheme

@Ben: I went back and clicked the 3 icons at the top, and now I GET IT!
Yes, an email to new recruits - makes perfect sense.

The icons looked small on my screen - or maybe I'm a little slow?

@Ray, the idea of this page is to make it really easy for total newbies to the site to find out where to start really quickly. There are actually three pages there, and in theory that is what they do. The About page is much longer and doesn't include listening recommendations.

People would find this page from a) the NIS homepage, b) when they sign up for the newsletter they get a link to it with their first email and c) via the help section.

I have no idea whether it is a good idea, I just borrowed it from here, see 4th link mentioned here:
http://www.43folders.com/2008/06/16/featured-links
I think it's a good idea in theory, I'll have to measure the response. What would be great is if a newbie found it and said either that it was useful, or that they prefer to make their way around the site by themselves.

It makes for a good "About Us" page, but it looks like you already have one.
When would someone come across this page?
