Patios Competition, Cordoba - Notes from Spain podcast 61
by Ben Curtis

Marina and I traveled down to Cordoba in May to check out the famous Patios and Rejas competition, when courtyards and windows all over the city are decorated with incredible floral displays.

We stayed at the simple, and highly recommendable Hotel Marisa and ate and drank wonderful things at Bar Santos, at Magistral Gonzalez Francés 3.

WOW! Thank you Marina and Ben! This was a great podcast. The pictures were so beautiful. It brought back so many happy memories of Córdoba. It was the next best thing to being there in person.

Great show - but imagine watering 700 pots!

I lived in Córdoba last year and would go out of my way to pass by Bar Santos for a chunk of that massive tortilla and a tinto de limón (”vargas de limón” in cordobés). It’s the only bar where I felt completely comfortable all by myself, but if the weather was nice, everyone was eating on the steps of the Mezquita anyway. The best tortilla I have ever had (and I have tasted a LOT of tortilla!)
