Yahoo gets podcasting too!

leave a comment

Yahoo joins the podcasting world with a brand new directory. I think when all this started a year or so ago a lot of people thought that podcasting wouldn’t be around for long, but new directories from big players like Yahoo and Apple have shown that this new media phenomenon is going from strength to strength. As I’ve always said, if you enjoy the Notes from Spain podcasts, then there’s a very good chance that you too should be producing your own. So, go on, give it a go!

Skype beater – free landline calls abroad – how do they do it?

one comment

Now this is perfect for ex-pats like me, or for anyone with family living abroad.

The VoipBuster! is a bit like Skype, not as good yet for general use, but it does have one major advantage – free calls to landlines in many countries, including Spain, the UK and the US, once you have paid a minimum 1 Euro subscription.

Seems amazing but it really works – you pay a Euro and talk for free for as long as you want. How do they do this?

itunes supports podcasting

Muy bien! itunes latest version, 4.9, now supports podcasting, and includes a directory full of exciting offerings. Download the new version now, and find the notes from Spain podcast in the Travel section. Maybe in 6 months time the world will finally know what a podcast is…

Watch Epic 2015

leave a comment

I’m trying to avoid adding too much geeky stuff to this blog, but I have a feeling it’s going to start creeping in every now and again… the podcasting obsession is what has really got me going… I find myself browsing rss feeds at strange times of night, and getting excited by ideas like instant outliners… worrying.

Anyway, watch Epic 2015, a bit of technological futurism that we should all look at, a great take on the www. past and present. Maybe it’s the commentators voice, but there’s something creepily ‘1984‘ about the whole thing. Watch out for Googlezon… you have been warned.
