We've thought long and hard about it, but we'd still like to keep our house here in UK, and we would not be able to buy anything great without selling up here.:( We've been holidaying in Spain for about 20 years now, so know it quite well, but still not fully convinced we'd like to live there full time. At the moment we go about 3 times a year, we will be off on Wednesday for a week or so, and I have just this minute booked flights and accommodation for a month's stay next April. So at the moment, I guess we'll carry on taking holidays there.
All of us here obviously like Spain, the language, the Spanish culture etc, but what, if anything, don't you like about Spain.
I'll start with the village we frequently visit, which like the rest of Spain, has much the same laws regarding cars, parking, drink driving, motoring in general etc as the UK. But in the village everyone just drives around on incredibly noisy bikes, no helmet, probably no tax, up one way streets the wrong way, park anywhere etc and the police just stand by and watch. We actually watched an old chap come off his bike, he could hardly stand up he was so drunk, and the police talked to him, and ended up helping him onto his bike and pushing him down the road to start it! You had to see it to believe it.

It is terrible that in some small places the police do so little about so basic things as drinking and driving or wearing a helmet in a motorbike. However the points driving liscense has proved to be working so hopefully soon we won't see these cases anymore.
