Greetings to everyone from New Zealand. I am so excited to have discovered this site a couple of weeks ago, thanks to Google. I am 79, a farmer's wife and am studying for my BA in Spanish at Massey university [extramurally]. It is fantastic to read all your messages and to be able to share a love of this beautiful language. I speak french, german and italian [very rusry] and whilst each of these languages have their own special appeal - especially french- it is in spanish that I can let my imagination take me on so many exciting 'voyages'. Oh,by the way, I have a gorgeous husband - we have been married 50 years in a fortnight's time - three children, four grandchildren and four horses. Those in strict order of importance!!.Hope I haven't bored you all with my chatter!! Hasta muy pronto. Liz

Kia ora Liz y bienvenido al foro. Kudos to you for taking up a new study at your age! I'm thinking about studying Spanish too and I'm thirty-one years younger than you are, so age can not be an excuse. ;-)

Welcome, Isabella! I'm very impressed that your desire to learn is still so strong. I hope to be working on my 5th language in 40 years, but I'm still having enough challenges with English and Spanish to last me for a while yet :)

Hola Isabella - well there goes my feeble excuse for thinking that being the wrong side of 40 was good grounds for looking up the same word in the dictionary twice in under a minute! I'm new here too but looking forward to more chatter and will try a bit more in spanish when feeling un poco mas valiente!Heather

Welcome, Liz! I am new too and see now that age is not a good excuse for occasional difficulties when learning a new language. At 61, I thought I could use this excuse now and then.
Good luck with your studies! Diana
