Common allergies such as asthma, pollen and hayfever which blight millions of lives could be wiped out by a new vaccine, it was claimed today.

The drug, which could also tackle potentially fatal reactions to nuts and shellfish, fools the body into believing it is being attacked by mycobacteria - bugs not seen much nowadays because youngsters are not exposed to as many germs as previous generations.

Better than a cure for the common cold if it gets to market.:thumbs-up:

Too late for me, but for a good reason. I have suffered from hayfever since I was nine years old, but a couple of years ago the symptoms began to subside and now I'm almost hayfever-free. It's great news for the next generation of wheezers and sneezers, though. :thumbs-up:
