Hi everyone,
Some friends of mine are putting together a very interesting project, interactive city guides that make the most of new technologies and ensure you're no longer stuck with outdated, heavy, limited city guides. With their new guides, you'd be able to ask a huge community whatever you are looking for in a certain city, and get a reply when and as you need it. They are starting with Madrid but hopefully more cities will follow soon. I can't wait to try it!
I promise I have no commercial interest in this, but I know and trust the people behind it and I believe you might be interested, so I thought I'd share it. They entered the BBVA Open Talent contest with their business plan and now need some support in order to get their backing. Your votes would be a great help, all it takes is a click (literally, no logging in required or data entry) on the "Votar" button on this link:
http://www.bbvaopentalent.com/werin-city-guides/
As you can see in the ranking (http://www.bbvaopentalent.com/ranking-de-proyectos-bbva-open-talent-segunda-edicion/), they are currently #14 out of more than 350 projects! But they deserve better ;)
More information on the guides in:
www.weringuides.com (http://www.weringuides.com) (English version coming soon, in the meantime you can practise your Spanish ;))
Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/barbracut?ref=mf#/WERINGuides?ref=ts) Status updates in Spanish and English, pictures, comments...
Follow them on Tweeter @werinmadrid
Also, I'd like to hear your opinion on the guides, and I'm sure they will too. Would you use them when visiting a city? Or even in your own town to ask for something bizarre you won't find in conventional guides like the Time Out? Look forward to your comments, oh experienced travellites ;)
