I used to listen to TWIT, but I got bored with it, couldn't sit still for that long...

I tried some other spanish podcasts and learning podcasts. I found all the others that I tried too elementary or trying to sell me something.

Did you hear the report NPR ran on pod casts about 2 months ago? That's what got me Googling for pod casts and that's how I found Notes from Spain. How did everybody else find NFS?

I was searching around for any podcast talking about spain. Now B and G have me hooked.

One I have to listen to every week is "A way With Words", from KPBS in San Diego. Anyone with an interest in the English Language should listen to it.

I listen to:
a whole bunch from the BBC (I particularly like the Mark Kermode file reviews from Five Live);
comunicando;
guisando (from the same team as comunicando - though there haven't been any new editions for a while);
moneysavingexpert (www.moneysavingexpert.com);
coffeegeek (if you're an espresso geek);
the 'in madrid' podcast;
extracts from the Alan Watts philosophy lectures (quite entertaining but a bit above my intellectual level!).

I try various others on and off, but I come back to this lot usually.

http://podcast.celticmusicnews.com/ if you like that sort of lively music. It has a new issue each week and promotes mostly USA based bands.

Well I used to listen to some podcasts in Spanish but it seems that they all podfaded (or iTunes is playing tricks on me). Menos mal que tengo Notes in Spanish :) I'm thinking of Viajes a tu aire (http://www.viajesatuaire.com/), Guisando (http://www.guisando.org), Comunicando (http://www.comunicandopodcast.com).

I also listen to Ma Parole! (http://ma.parole.free.fr/), some BBC podcasts, Digital Photography Tips From the Top Floor (http://www.tipsfromthetopfloor.com/), 2 Minute Photoshop Tricks (http://tricks.onigo.net/), Lonely Planet Travelcasts (http://www.lonelyplanet.com/podcasts/) and In Madrid (http://www.in-madrid.com/pod.html).

Hi Marina,
Can you recommend any podcasts that feature flamenco music?
I have been browsing the web but have been unable to find anything.
Also,are there any local flamenco guitarists that I should look out for when I visit Madrid?

Techy ones mostly...
This week in technology
Security Now
diggnation

Spanish Phrase of the Day (very short, idioms)

Notes in Spanish -- i listen to these over and over and over again, because my comprehension isn't that great, but each time I hear one I understand a bit more. I've heard them so many times I sometimes find myself talking along with them or answering the question Ben asks Marina before she does... ¿...es el problema o la problema? I get strange looks when I do these things.

Pablo, it's great to hear that the podcasts are of good use for you!
Keep on answering the questions and let them laugh!!!

Hi Celia,

To tell u the truth I haven't listened to any flamenco podcasts, the best thing would be to download radio programs dedicated to flamenco. I'll have a look over the weekend and get back to you if I find any.

TWIT, Inside the Net, The Now Show(BBC currently of air), Maccast, Granky Geeks, mainly tech stuff and comedy then...

I also have a Radio Shark - nifty little piece of gear that you can set to record radio programmes in your absence - it records then ships them straight into a playlist on your iTumes - aint technology great?

http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/radioshark/

You can record streamed audio that goes through your sound card using Wire Tap (may be Mac only) there is a timer but you have to set the stream up manually so its a one shot deal.

Ben, several of us mentioned the In Madrid podcast and I remember commenting on the "Mi Barrio" from La Latina, which you thought might be the first of a series. Is Rafe going to do anymore? Pass on the word that at least one fan is waiting.
