We are going to be in Benidorm for 3 months till end May, then Los Alcazares for 3 months till Aug. My 17 year old would love to hear from any kids around her age to meet up with or get together on facebook with. Does anyone know of any (car boot )Rastros in the Benidorm area, or anything interesting, free or cheap we should be seeing or doing whilst we are there..I mean in the local area - in either place? We are hoping to buy 2nd hand bikes so if you have one for sale please let me know. Thanks

Sounds like fun!
Try the local forums such as La Marina (http://lamarinaforum.com/index.php?&&CODE=00) for local info.
Now about that bike. Ladies town bike as new, hardly ever used.....PM me;D
Just inland from Benidorm is some fabulous scenery, Guadalest is worth a visit, Alicante is close and a very pleasant place to do some shopping (and there's a local train service). South of that are Murcia, Cartagena, Elche. To the north the valleys around Jalon (Xaló) or from Pego you can go up the Val de Gallinera to see the cherry orchards, Val d'Ebo & Val d'Alcala for some great scenery.
Add that to Benidorm's night life and your 3 months will go very quickly.

Bars that Gary has enjoyed. That could be a very large book indeed.

Hi Gary - I have written it down in my little book - thanks!
After looking at your user name, I have a great idea for a book or tv series. A detective solving crimes in and around Benidorm.

I forgot to click 'advise me by email' so did not see your post till just now. Thanks for sending - really enjoyed it and I have noted everywhere for a visit when we go on Sunday next (if airport not closed for snow). We need to get hold of bikes when we get there (buy, not hire) so any ideas or suggestions welcome.
By the way..
Rebus (Rankin) gave rise to a Blue Cross rescue border terrier being renamed Rebus - it suited him much more than the baggage of Muffin he came with..and our Rebus was coming with us but sadly passed away in Dec 09. His name wil live on as he posts on forums internationally!!!
