Me too. The chances of running into one of these big sardines is very slim, anyway. ;) But how many people really know about the fact that great whites are cruising the Med?

Ín the last century, there have been 27 recorded attacks in the Mediterranean. Considering that's 1 every 4 years, of the millions of people that visit the beach, it's quite a low number.

There are zero known attacks in the Med. since 2000.

It wont bother me - the sea is way too wet for my liking and swimming is for ther odd occasion when the aeroplane has ditched or the ship is sinking....

Wow! This week, Dutch fishermen have caught a 150-kilogram mako shark near the British coast (the article doesn't say where exactly though). Makos are close relatives of the great white. They are much more agile and quick though. In recent years, there have been some unproven sightings of great white sharks in the same waters.

Lol! Do you know that "sharks" are another slang term that Americans use for personal injury lawyers? The title is appropriate.

I live in NYC and I've done a lot of work on Wall St.

Our sharks here are on land and I am not afraid of them :)

My daughter went swimming in the sea a couple of days ago with friends that had come over for a holiday (brrrrr) No sharks, but the jellyfish made them get out pretty quick
