View Full Version : Forum reorganisation needed? Or all fine?

It's been a few weeks since we reorganised the forums, adding new sections such as "Spanish language schools and courses", "Spanish culture, Spanish life and news", and "Moving to Spain and Living in Spain".

Personally I think the forum has benefited from becoming more defined and will do so even more as it continues to grow. The only section I wonder about is 'Your NFS'. We love it when anything new gets added there but most of these posts might fit just as well in the travel or culture sections. And, in reality, all the posts in the forum are Your Notes from Spain!

What do you think? Are you happy with the forum layout these days?

Ben - I think it does make sense to have a specific section for sharing photos or other files, not necessarily on travel. Travel posts could go in the travel/culture section as you suggest. So maybe you could just change the name slightly to 'A place to share your photos'. If it doesn't work after that you could drop it!

That's my two Eurocents' worth:)

PS! unless you happen to be in another time zone, you are an early riser for a Sunday morning - or maybe not yet gone to bed!

For some crazy reason I woke up at 4.30 this morning, had a bath, couldn't get back to sleep, then turned on the computer at 5.30 :o

Thanks for the feedback, anyone one else got any ideas?

I live and die in the New Posts section so the organisation of the forum layout only really comes to bear when I want to start a thread. So, dont make work for yourself is my take on it....
Simons suggetion for a place to share photos seems like a great idea on the surface but will be heavy on server resources if photos are uploaded to this site as oposed to shared via Flickr... I know its tricky at times but it sure cuts down on NFS bandwidth!!

Look on the bright side Ben. Whatever you do we'll continue to mis-post! I sometimes try and find a particular topic as I've seen something that might add to it but it's quite difficult as it is in an unrelated thread.
E.G. We're chatting about cats in the "welcome" section at the moment. I can't remember whose thread that was in and I posted to it today!
IMHO
It's what makes this site interesting. You must have been in some of the technical forums to see much stricter segregation and that's great for finding a problem with a driver, but rather dull otherwise.
All I know is that if I want to post to NFS, there is usually an appropriate place to start a thread. It may flourish or die but using the filter to show only one week's posts that does not matter. And if I can't find an old topic/thread I can start a new one.
