Where else in the world fascinates you as much as Spain? In my case it's Asia: India, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia... the first place I would buy a plane ticket if I wanted to get away for a while...

New Zeland is just awesome, Argentina seems like a cool country, and China well to be frank I really don't understand it;s culture or language, but it seems cool, and I know in my lifemtime it will become more and more important in the global sense

New York City and not just because I'm from there. Have you been there Ben and Marina? Anyone else?

Any of the Greek islands,... in fact, anywhere in Greece. Oh, and Cyprus too (I was born there).

Any of the Greek islands,...
We spent part of our honeymoon on Ithaca and Paxos, two of the most beautiful places I have ever been...

Bali, Greece and Italy are my top three (so far). Like Bali as the people are so friendly, their customs so unique -- you are really out of your element there. Good shopping, good restaurants, magnificant scenery. Reasonably priced too.
Greece - one week on Mykonos and one week on Santorini would be an ideal "get away" vacation.
Love Italy for the food. Have never had a bad meal in Italy.
Runner ups are Cuba, Barbados, England.
Sigh.

I was in New York for a week, but it was at least 13 years ago, so I wouldn't mind going again to have another look;).
However at the moment I'm totally fascinated by TIBET (http://www.tibet.com/) as I'm reading Dalai Lama's (http://www.tibet.com/DL/index.html) "Freedom in Exile" (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0349111111/qid=1146350611/sr=1-1/ref=sr_1_2_1/203-2870318-5038341) and I've recently read Isabel Losada's (http://www.isabellosada.com/) "For Tibet, With Love -A Beginner's Guide to Changing the World" (http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/ASIN/0747581185/qid=1146350397/sr=8-2/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i2_xgl/203-2870318-5038341). It gives me goose bumps just to think about how such a paceful bunch of people have to deal with such horrible invasors. I've also learnt a lot of interesting things about reincarnation, buddhist culture and many more things. For example, did you know that Tibet is geographcally 1/3 of the total area of China?

¡México! ¡Como México no hay dos! And the American Southwest: Arizona, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado... thinking of those places makes me homesick. The scenery, the culture, the food, it's all fascinating.

P.s.: does anyone know how I could post smaller pictures here? It's all over the screen and I don't want it to be that big.

The photo you link to would have to be smaller in the first place. You can also attach photos here directly, have a look at this post (http://www.notesfromspain.com/forums/showthread.php?t=43) for some options.
Great photo by the way!

Thanks! This is a scan from a slide which I took years ago, so the colors are a bit faded but the grandeur of the landscape is still obvious.
I just posted some pictures from Gran Canaria in the group photo pool at:

Brazil, Cuba, Chile, Nepal, Japan, and Greenland all seem wondrous to me.
Flirted with learning Portuguese so I could better enjoy a trip to Brazil, but the trip never happened. The language certainly sounds beautiful....
Cuba is where my Armenian grandparents were married in the 1920's. Has anyone here yet seen "The Lost City"? That is quite a film! I hope travel to Cuba is allowed again - I think it would be a fascinating place to visit.
Chile seems geologically remarkable. Azure waters and stunning vistas.
Nepal speaks for itself. I'm an armchair mountain climber - and quite terrified of heights. But I would go trekking in Nepal in a heartbeat if I had the chance!
I'd like to visit rural Japan, not the overcrowded cities. Could be a good spiritual journey....
My Danish and American grandparents met near Greenland when they were both radio operators in the early part of the 20th century. A dogsledding/kayaking trip in Greenland would be challenging but exhilirating!
There are lots more places I'd like to visit (moon!), but those 6 are the ones I'd like to try first.
For all of you that love travel, be sure to visit the site of my favorite traveler of all, Michael Palin (http://www.palinstravels.com).
