Maybe it's my eyes, but at times, especially on different monitors, it's quite difficult to tell the difference in the read/unread thread icons. Perhaps a bit more contrast between the two?

Better to be a different colour. I have no problem on CRT monitors or TFT screens, but on the super glossy screen (don't know name of technology) on my new office laptop is is impossible to tell the difference.

Whew! I'm glad it isn't just me!

I've also found on my LCD monitor that the more recent icons go through a more subtle change when content is viewed.

Hola Ben & Marina,
Since some of us are not familiar with the Regions, and live vicariouosly thru your podcast and Forum community, One thing that I thought that would help me connect better is a Map. Or at least a link to a good Spanish Map. Maybe you have one, but I missed it?
you guys are always talking about some place, and I go searching for it thru google or something, and sometimes I find it, and sometimes I don't. I guess I'm just visually impaired that way, and that I like to see the place geographically.
Everything else on NFS is so perfect... so this is just my humble idea.

Hi JT, I have been trying to sort this out for a while. It is easier enough to get a google map onto your site with lots of flags on, using mapbuilder.net for example. But what I can't do yet is get the search box underneath. Here are two things I have been playing with. The basic map as I like it:
http://www.notesfromspain.com/spain_map.html
and a searchable map:
http://www.notesfromspain.com/maptest.html
I just need to work out how to get the search function from the second map into the first one!

meanwhile the EU site (http://europa.eu/abc/maps/members/spain_en.htm) has country maps and you can look at a region easily
going one step back from Ben's Google link takes you here (http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=40.480381,-4.240723&spn=13.362026,30.761719&z=5&t=h&key=ABQIAAAARjSFojEjHHWWfCrN-Vhf1RTueynfO8ATIgW_V9mFnh11Un0U1RRdzwCD0wyYHH6qp8L pR7DHccfeHw&mid=1164872281)where there is a search box.
