My friend and I are looking at spending a week in Valencia in September because the culture/beach holiday really appeals to us. However we have read that Valencia tends to be pretty wet at this time of year- something we really don't want out of our holiday!

So how bad is the rain at this time of year, bearing in mind we'll want to spend quite a bit of time on the beach? We are looking to go on 6th so early September. Is it worth chancing it?

Thanks

This link gives some info:

Anyway, I live in Valencia and though there are no guarantees when the weather is concerned, I'd say take that (small) risk and come here. It won't be cold and it'd be pretty freaky for it to rain for the entire duration of your holiday.

Last Sept records (http://www.tutiempo.net/clima/Valencia/09-2009/804720.htm) - you can always go back a few years as well. From tutiempo.net

But as the finace guys would say - "past lack of rain may not be a true indicator of future performance" ;) At least it will be warm rain - go for it!!!

I have lived in the Region for the last 6 years and my personal opinion would be that you should go for it - especially in early September. Although there can be no guarantees, the rains do not generally start until October time anyway.
