Hello to everyone,

Discovered this site quite recently and whilst I am fluent in Spanish, this is spot on for my novio who is still struggling with the "es-pan-yol"! We live in Marbella and unfortunately it is very very easy to get away with never learning Spanish as most people understand English. Will be downloading some of the podcasts very soon!

A quick pregunta: Does anyone know of a good website with all the Spanish festivos, fiestas, traditions etc? Have searched this site and couldn't find an exhaustive list anywhere? My friend swears there is a festival in December with bonfires and I am convinced she is confused and is thinking of San Juan but I'd like to be able to prove it! Any information is greatly bienvenido :)

The first time I heard ""maomeno" in andalú, I wondered what they were on about! :) (más o menos) Some of the older people especially, are very difficult to understand. I think the worst I heard was an old chap from Huelva, I could hardly understand a single word he said!:(

How about the following as a start ?
www.060.es/administracion_publica/contacte_con_la_administracion/calendario_
laboral/common/calendario_mapas_2006.pdf (http://www.060.es/administracion_publica/contacte_con_la_administracion/calendario_%0Alaboral/common/calendario_mapas_2006.pdf)
You might need to copy/paste into your browser if the lengthy URL gets cropped and of course you need a pdf viewer (commonly Acrobat).
