After a fine suggestion by Valenciason, it is now possible for people to add their Spain video footage to the forum. If anyone has any!?!
The instructions (http://www.notesfromspain.com/forums/showthread.php?t=4015) will of course work for any video from youtube or google video anywhere in the forum, but nothing illegal, copyrighted or leud please! Anything untoward will be removed!

I loaded a test video but it is still processing. We'll see how it goes.

I used to mess about with photo stories some time back. This is an early example on our little trip to Benidorm, narrated by our daughter. Not good quality as I was trying to keep the file size very low for quick loading. I've uploaded to photobucket, so lets see if it works here:

Great idea, but don't encourage our spammers! ;)

You don't need to worry about copyright Ben. YouTube hosts the file and you are just linking to it. That's the beauty of YouTube: any copyright issues are for YouTube and the uploader to worry about.

I'm curious if there will be greater control over what gets posted now that Google has purchased YouTube....

If there is a business model to justify greater content control, I'm sure Google will do so. I expect YouTube under Google will become more commercialized and less accessible to the common person over time, but we'll see.

I suspect you are right. In the mean time video sharing sites spring up like mushrooms (http://newteevee.com/2006/12/07/scroon/) so there will always be somewhere new for the more off the wall stuff. Dailymotion (http://www.dailymotion.com/) is big in Europe, Metacafe (http://www.metacafe.com/) too...

Great;D That was clever stuff VSon. Better than looking at the rain falling outside anyway! I hope Google's purchase of YouTube means more like this and less of the garbage posted by spotty snotty teens from their phones.
They really only buy sites to increase their hit rate and hence advertising revenue so I don't suppose they will make too many changes that would frighten the punters away.

I don't get your reference to picking up Christmas trees.

The shape made by the pins in the spare that he "picked up" (ie knocked down) looking in plan view is like the shape of a christmas tree, a difficult but not impossible spare.
"Bedposts" would be the two extreme pins at the back left and right of the lane - a virtually impossible spare.
This lingo is from my bowling league days of my youth so may be 40 years out of date - sorry about the confusion.
You can pick up a christmas tree by hitting the front pin slightly to the right or left of centre and will work at a relatively slow speed. To get bedposts you have to hit one of the pins so hard that it ricochets round the lane and if youre lucky clatters the other on the way past. I managed it once ever.

Hi,
Can someone remind me how to paste YouTube etc videos into posts in this forum. The original link at the top of this thread seems to have disappeared.
TIA:)
