I'm just having a look at inter podcast 4 (i'm catching up) and had to reread some phrases a few times with disbelief. Ben does actually confirm the meaning of Me cantaba mucho el ala but the sentence before already had me smiling (sudando como un pollo).
Got to admit, they've a lovely way with words those Spaniards!

Good job he didn't say sudando como una polla !! Now we would have been worried. Cracking phrase though the original one.:)

He visto hoy en 20minutos este interesante artículo sobre los blogs in España, se llama Evento Blog España. Creo que estaré muy interesante para los miembros del foro.

Lumpsucker I wasn't sure what you meant as when I looked up polla in my dic [sic] it had pullet. I only noticed tonight the title of yor missive and am inferring another meaning.
I'll have to ask the Colombian factory girls about that on Monday!

but it's got an -a ending?

According to my dictionary 'una polla' does have the meaning you are thinking of but it can also mean 'young girl' or 'pretty girl'

just thinking pigs don't really sweat either so Spaniards prob find our expression equally hilarious.

It might be in some Latin American country, but don't use it with the Spanish girls:D:D:D

Tying up loose ends (as we seemed to be talking about loose ends) I fell off my bike and did my shoulder in-so have just talked to the Colombians re pollas . It can have the peninsular meaning (the rude one) but can also be used for young girls as well as (bizarrely)the extra ball in the lotto -but it's usage for these things is pretty colloquial in S.America.
