I hadn't heard of Meetup.com, so I don't know how many of you will have. But, it arranges for people to meet up for all sorts of reasons and luckily enough for me, the most popular meetup in Glasgow is the Spanish Language meetup (http://spanish.meetup.com/85/?gj=sj5).

I really enjoyed myself, because not only were there a lot of people there ( I reckon about 20 in total) but there were actual Spanish speakers too! I found myself to be one of the more advanced speakers in the group. I must have learnt more in Spain than I thought!

Better though, I made friends with two actual Spanish speakers. It's been the best luck I've had in Scotland so far...

Sounds great. Where did you meet? In a pub? I guess you will be going again!

There's one in Bristol too, but I can't take part seeing as I'm under 18. :(

Yeah, I'll definitely be going to the next one. I need to find more practise than once a month though!

The only problem for under-18 year-olds for the Glasgow meetup was that it is held in a pub. It's a stupid country for having that rule, and I'm sure that banning kids from the pub contributes to the drinking problems we have. But anyway there were a couple of 17-year-olds at the meetup anyway... ;) What age are you?

Alan,
Sounds like a very interesting experience, but the best of all is that you got two Spanish people that might be up for an intercambio. If you want to take a couple of pics in the next meeting we will be very glad to publish them in Notes in Spanish.
