Hi Ben & Marina,
I have been meaning to send in this suggestion for some time, but never got around to it.
It would be great to hear a podcast all about podcasting covering.
first experiences
learning curves
suggestions for beginners -- i.e. dos and do nots
funny mistakes/not so funny mishaps -- people figuring you out
more detail about using the equipment -- like the silly windWell, it would be really interesting to hear about this stuff.
Best wishes,
Alex Ellis

Spanglish
I would be afraid that the main audience of this podcast, people just starting out with spanish, would miss much of the value it was a typical Notes in Spanish, becuase me with 5 years of spanish still struggles on listening to some of the NIS podcasts

I think this podcast is entirely topical to Notes from Spain, seeing how Ben and Marina put together such a professional package with home-made resources. It would be great to hear about their learning curves and experiences. I imagined the podcast to be in English, not in Spanish to clear this up.
It might touch on the technical side very briefly, but it can be very rounded and touch on the points I outlined catering for the wider range of listeners. Ben and Marina's operation seems to be very 'open government' which really gets the listeners involved.
Hasta luego,
Alex

I tend to agree with cubix about this one - I 'tune in' to brush up my spanish and because I love Spain.
Alex, you might find the thing you want here
http://www.podcasterconfessions.com
which is entirely about the podcasting experience

Personally, I'd love to hear a podcast about the transportation in Madrid. All the complications with buying a car and whether or not it's even worth it.

For me, learning Spanish grammar and vocabulary has been fairly easy because I already now French. However, understanding spoken Spanish is still a real challenge. When I think back to my experiences learning French in Quebec, Canada, I remember that once I learned all of the "filler words" that are so common and take up so much room in informal spoken French, focusing on the important words in the message became so much easier. I've noticed, for example, that Ben uses the word "nada" a great deal as a filler. My dictionary does not provide an adequate translation of this particular usage.
I think a great podcast topic would be to first of all explain what the main filler words and expressions are in Spanish and to provide examples of how they are used. Then, in the rest of the podcast, it would be useful for Ben and Marina to simply have a conversation on some everyday topic such (e.g. Marina talks about how her day went) and try to use as many of the filler words as possible.

Hi Drew,
Thanks for the suggestion and welcome to the forums! I'll put your idea on the list for future podcasts.
Rather than just 'nada', the filler I usually use is pues nada... my favourite!
Others include asi que nada... bueno.... o sea que....
I'll be sure to point new ones out in future worksheets.

How about....
Total...
vale, pues...
Those are a couple of my favorites whilst my mind scrambles for what to say next.
