Following requests from listeners we now offer a complete transcript of Notes in Spanish podcasts. Apart from having every word of our conversation down in writing to help you improve your listening skills, grammar and vocabulary, the pdf document also includes a page highlighting the most interesting words, phrases and grammar from the podcast, and short exercises to really help these stick in your minds.

While the podcast will always remain free, there is a small charge for the transcripts (to help cover our costs), but we really believe this will be worth it for anyone hoping to improve their Spanish.

These worksheets can be downloaded via Notes in Spanish.com (http://www.notesinspanish.com)

This podcast is fantastic for us teachers in the UK who are trying to find up-to-date listening material. The topics are spot on - just what we cover in the syllabus and the worksheets you are now putting together are a great help. I've told my students to download the podcast. However, what happens regarding the photocopying of the worksheets? Are we allowed to pass them on to students within our own institution or is this not permitted?

Hi Sanferminuk,

I'm really pleased to hear that this is so useful to your students, do get them to suggest topics that might interest them via the forum or the blog.

The copyright on the transcripts currently means that each person should download and pay for their own seperate copy. However, we are currently working out the issue of providing licences for interested schools and universities and hope to have this arranged as soon as possible.
Saludos!

Hi

Broadly speaking the topic areas we have to cover for AS / A2 Spanish are:

Day-to-day Matter

food, diet, health
transport, travel, tourism
current affairs + mediaSociety

relationships, family, youth concerns
social issues, law, justice
leisure and the artsThe Working World

education, training and employment
business and industry
ICTThe Environment + Citizenship

energy, pollution + the environment
politics + citizenship
campaigning organisations + charitiesThe International Context

customs, traditions, beliefs + religion
The EU
worldwide problemsI know that some of these are pretty broad in scope, but that is what we are given to work with.

At the following site you can see some of the reports from the exam board which may give some clues as to what they are covering in a bit more detail, but frankly what you are doing seems spot on!

Hope this is of help.

Thanks Neil.
And again, do tell your students to have a look at the forums and make any suggestions they might like as well - suggestions that come in mp3 format that we can include in the podcast are very welcome too!
Saludos!

Back in one of the first advanced podcasts that you had a transcript for, you said that you pay someone to make them for you.

Is this just a friend of yours that transcribes it for some cash? Or is there a company that one can go to in order to get it things transcribed?

It's just that I've been thinking about having some video transcribed.

Hi Peter, we use a company here in Spain. PM Marina and she'll give you the details!
