It's a French film mostly, that I stumbled across late last night. The premise of the movie is a French Erasmus student who is studying in Barcelona, moving in with 6 other students from a variety of countries and languages.

I found it to be an excellent take on a student's experiences in Spain, dealing with issues of culture shock, as well as acceptance and integration into a foreign culture.

Particularly humorous was a scene from the first day of class, where a belgian student stands up and requests that the professor teach the class in Castilian, rather than Catalan. The professor responds rather haughtily that as we are in Catalonia, the official language is Catalan. Thus, the class will be taught in Catalan.

There are several beautiful shots of Barcelona, although it is not afraid to show the seedy underside of life in Barsa.

I definitely recommend it for anyone looking to study in Spain.

I think I saw this film, or a very similar one, with Ben and his little sister on her first week of Erasmus in Madrid. I think we all enjoyed it a lot because we could see what amazing year my sister in law was going to have and I think she felt really identified with it.
