Unfortunately, while I was there the weather was not great. But the atmosphere was very relaxed and I had a great time with my mates, who you will get the chance to meet in the next cuisine from spain edition.
Saludos,
Marina.

Thanks Marina - the best part of Teneriffe and the papas made my mouth water! We still seek out small Canaries bananas (Mercadona stocks them) but they donīt seem to export the patas.

I love this photo I shot in Tenerife last September. It is looking out to the island of La Gomera at around 17.30 in the afternoon. I love the tranquility of the scene. I like to look at this if i'm feeling stressed.
The exact location I took the photo from can be seen in Google Earth by copying and pasting these co-ordinates into the Google Earth search box exactly as they appear here:-
28 13'35.65 N 16 50'20.87 W
Makes a nice background on your computer. The picture is on Flickr if you want a copy. http://www.flickr.com/photos/la_isla_pequenita/sets/72057594125226355/

lumpsuckerpig - It's true that transmit calmness, great photo!!!
greytop - We had the most amazing bananas while in tenerife, actually it was lovely to see the bananas hanging from the tree. Have you ever seen the purple flower hanging at the bottom of the bananas bunch (http://www.el-bohio.com/cercado2/cercado25.html)??? I hadn't, its so beautiful!!!
If you like the papas from Canarias don't miss the next cuisine from spain podcast!!!

Hola Marina,
The photos are stunning! My wife drooled when she saw them, she loves the beach! It is interesting that cilantro is seldom used on the mainland of Spain. We love it. The podcast was fun too.
Thanks

You learn something every day. I didn't know bananas had a flower. It looks weird but beautiful. When we stayed in Tenerife around 3 years ago, the apartment we rented had a banana tree right outside our front door. I mean right outside too, you could pick a banana whilst you were locking the door. It was stuffed full of 'hands' of bananas, ripe and ready for picking. We picked loads that week off it, nobody said anything as I was not sure if we should have been picking them but they were delicious.
