Marbella

I realise Spanish music is a bit of an acquired taste but when I first started learning (and still am!) I used to like going through Mrs Marbella's Spanish CDs and writing down the lyrics to songs I liked. It helped with my listening comprehension and pronunication skills and a lot of the music I found was really quite good.
Example being a guy called Antonio Flores who not only wrote some beautiful songs but if I remember correctly died in tragic circumstances; distraught after the death of his mother - who might also have been a famous singer - he committed suicide.
One song I remember which is perfect for beginners goes like this (uno, dos y tres...¡todos juntos!):
Me gusta el color que tienen tus ojos,
Me gusta el olor que tienen tu piel,
Me gusta el sabor que tiene tu boca,
Me gusta tu pelo y todo tu ser.
Me gusta el ritmo de tu caminar,
Pero aun me gusta mas tu libertad.
Me gusta tocar tu cuerpo moreno,
Me gusta escuchar tu voz infantil,
Me gusta decir tu nombre Rosario, (note: Rosario was his sister...eek!)
Me gusta gritar que eres para mi.
Rosario, Rosario.......

Too late for me at that stage to use these phrases to chat up some chicas guapas españolas because I had already met one, but, substitute Rosario with Mercedes, Isabel, Tracey, Sharon etc. and you will be on to a winner.
