Just an alert for those who can get TVE Internacional that according to the programme guide on their website, the Goya cine awards are being broadcast as live this Sunday. The usual suspects, Volver and El Laberinto del Fauno, account for most of the nominations along with Alatriste, the Pérez-Reverte adaptation, and Salvador (neither of these two I’ve seen, anyone else?). Should be interesting.
The broadcast will be as live but with an half an hour delay. It says here (http://www.elpais.com/articulo/cultura/TVE/emitira/gala/Goya/media/hora/retardo/elpepucin/20070125elpepucul_3/Tes)that is to give the audience a smoother viewing experience and to edit out any dead time. If this were a British or American broadcaster, you’d suspect the real reason would be to edit out any swearing, fights or wardrobe malfunctions that might happen, but maybe in Spain they leave these in!
