I'm thinking of buying a motorbike while in Spain. Does anyone know the laws on registering a bike if your not an EU citizen?

No idea I'm afraid... you may need to get you license converted to a Spanish one in order to get insurance. I think this is the kind of thing it's easiest to find out by going to a 'Trafico' office once you are here.

Start here (http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/cis/cis_1024.html)- US embassy site which has a lot of links to other organisations.
The garage that sells you the bike may be the ones to do the paperwork. You may have to get a NIE (foreigners ID number) as that is needed for most transactions in Spain. This is a fairly simple procedure.
I had a link for english version of traffico site but seem to have lost it. If I come across it I'll put it up. It may not be detailed enough for what you want however.
Possible help (ES) here (http://asesores.com/extranjeros/). This is a Valencia gestor site & I've no experience of them. Mostly the advice is for required documentation for people staying in Spain for more than 3 months.

Thanks for the links. I'm stopping by the local embassy next week so I'll check with them. I think I may just rent as I go as needed.
