Real y Ruud

For those of you who fancy the chances of Real for a championship a newsfact from the "AD" newspaper in Holland. Ruud van Nistelrooy made 16 goals in 9 games so far. In those games Real won 8 times and drew once!

yeah, he's pretty good that Ruud. Didn't he used to play for some English team?... and whatever happened to that other guy from England who used to play for Real sometimes.... David something, wasn't it?

I don't know what all the fuss is about at Real Madrid. They have been talking about the new manager leaving for weeks and saying how bad the team is, but before this weekend's games they were second in the league and only a point behind Barca. I suppose fans always need something to moan about....

I don't know what all the fuss is about at Real Madrid.

Firstly, fuss will always surround Madrid - it's the nature of the beast.

Secondly, they might be second (joint, until tonight) but they've lost 3 of their last 5 matches (including a 3-0 home spanking by Recreativo) and only scored 2 goals.

Thirdly, Capello has not been endearing himself to the Madrid-based press by banning them from a recent training session and sending out an unknown to face the press conference - the press walked out. The press also considered Beckham to be a genuine hard-working Madrid player and were not happy with Capello's declaration that Beckham wouldn't wear the shirt again - a claim he has had to retract.

However, they are just not playing good football. They only play one up front (Ruud) and often have no forwards on the bench (although Robinho can always be moved up). They also lost to Betis in the Copa del Rey.

And when did they last win anything??

All true... but still, second is pretty good! Have to say though , that I am not paying much attention this year. I got fed up with them last year - bunch of overpaid premadonnas if you ask me!

Escuché la radio el otro día y hubo un artículo sobre Real Madrid y un titular (de un periódico) gracioso sobre Robinho que dijo algo como:

"Robinho es un triathlonista fenomenal - Corre, hace bicicletas y ... nada." ;D
