Sun to release Java code to open source:

Microsoft Office will support the OpenDocument Format even if Microsoft doesn't:

And Microsoft doesn't like it (podcast):

But it seems everyone's getting in on the Open source act:

Motorola: https://opensource.motorola.com
Sony on the Playstation 3: http://www.gamasutra.com/php-bin/news_index.php?story=9290
Microsoft (sometimes): http://www.zdnetasia.com/news/software/0,39044164,39360024,00.htm
Nokia: http://nokia770.com/ - a Linux-based mobile phone/tablet thingy
Google: http://code.google.com/projects.html
Apple: http://developer.apple.com/opensource/index.html
IBM: http://www.cio.com/blog_view.html?CID=21160 whose office suite will support OpenDocument, but will not be open source. Yet. IBM runs many open source projects.

even a couple you wouldn't think about:

The BBC: http://www.bbc.co.uk/opensource/
Open Source Cola: http://www.infoweb.co.nz/other/open-source-cola/

Yeah, I know it's geeky.
