For those of you who travel east-west in your jaunts to Iberia, how do you prepare for/get over jet lag? To me, it's one of the most insufferable parts of traveling- usually throws me for a loop for a handful of days.
For this trip, I've been gradually making my bedtime earlier and earlier, as well as getting up earlier and earlier. This morning I was up at 3, which is 10 AM Valencia time- and I don't feel too tired. Hopefully, I'll have less of a shock this time.

What helps me the most is sleeping on the plane. This is easier said than done sometimes but it truly helps.

I just don't sleep when I travel, sometimes going almost a day and a half without sleep, then go to bed at the normal time at my destination - BUT - the next morning I leave completely clear for as long a lie-in as I need. Then I am on local time. Well, it works for me.

For me is the key is to sleep as much as you can in the plane... but I have to say that I can sleep anywhere and certainly planes and cars make me feel even more sleepy... However sleeping a lot not always work. Last time we came to England on the way back we arrived at 17h but I had sleept so much in the bus to the airport and the plane that I felt as if it was 11 in the morning:eek:
