the ever dependable Giles Tremlett is once again at hand to bring the news that the Catalan government is making a series of "blue" movies to spread the Catalan language. See Porn actors do it for Catalan (http://www.guardian.co.uk/spain/article/0,,2029920,00.html)

The director insists that they are artistic movies and not porn movies because they have a plot-line and the sex scenes are non-explicit. So if you are looking to brush up on your Catalan....

Actually, in the same way as porn has been an innovating force in the tech industry (dvd's came into existence as a way of getting more porn onto one side of a disc - not sure why as apparently most people only watch about 8 minutes...), if the films are any good this may do wonders for the Catalan language after all!
