In an ITV interview, the England captain said of his three-year stay in Madrid: "I want to settle down here."

And why not? I bet when they were watching all their guests arrive yesterday in the pouring rain they wished they were back in La Moraleja.

I realise that there is a huge publicity machine surrounding this family but I do feel he has a genuine affection for the place.

They seem very settled in Spain and out of the public spotlight, if that suits them, and they can be as near to a normal family as is possible, then more power to them!!
