I have seen it on TVE, very impressive indeed. I didn't know some cities and towns have female cofradías but apparently, they do.

I have seen an all-female costalera crew on TVE, too. This kind of heavy weight-lifting probably leaves both men and women exhausted! :D

Pego like many places this easter had to call off most of the processions but did manage to find a relatively dry hour on Sunday for a final get together. Account in the paper (in Spanish) for those needing to brush up on their weather terminology:) can be found here in Las Provincias (http://www.lasprovincias.es/valencia/prensa/20070410/marina/pego-logra-celebrar-encuentro_20070410.html) newspaper.
Elsewhere in the paper they report 80% occupancy of the hotels (http://www.lasprovincias.es/valencia/prensa/20070410/marina/ocupacion-turistica-roza-hoteles_20070410.html) but unfortunately an increase in the road accident fatalities (http://www.lasprovincias.es/valencia/prensa/20070410/cvalenciana/victimas-mortales-accidentes-aumentan_20070410.html). Maybe the influence of the points on the driving licence is wearing off - or maybe the bad weather and impatient drivers was behind this.
P.S. I hope the pop-up ads on the Las Provincias sites don't annoy anyone too much. They have a large, quick "kill" button so I put up with them as they keep the site free to use.
