Ok, I will be spending a month this summer camping, and I was looking at recipes. I stumbled across a recipe for Chicken Paella,

http://www.camprecipes.com/index.php?comm=18&reID=594&PHPSESSID=c3129383b06d8d1c7597a4aa41aa595a

Is that feasible and will it be like regular paella. Having new made paella any tips?

Rice-a-roni in paella? Yuck-a-roni! ;)

Seriously, I would go for the Valencian pearl rice if you can get it. I can obtain it here in my local grocery store (I live in the USA), and I don't live in a large city.

Don't forget that you'll need a large paellera (a paella dish) to cook it in.

See this thread (http://www.notesfromspain.com/forums/showpost.php?p=1458&postcount=6) for some suggestions on making paella on a wood fire. I'm no expert, but I'm getting better and better at it.

The rice you want is called "Calasparra". The recipie sounds good, however If you want to make the real thing I would remove the chorizo and use only the chicken meat. Good luck!!!

... and take a pic for us to have a look!!!

If you're not ready to drop 7.50 for a bag of rice, a nice alternative is La Preferida, produced by a Mexican food company. They sell 2 pound bags of Valencian Pearl Rice (Arroz Tipo Valenciano). It's much cheaper since it's grown in the States.

From the bag notes: "El arroz La Preferida tipo Valenciano casi siempre es usado para hacer Paella."

Guadalupe Mountains, it's in North West Texas, pretty much the middle of nowhere, and the hottest point in the US
