Madrid trip

Hi guys,
I am planning a trip to Madrid in September 2006.We will be arriving on a Sunday but I have read that many restaurants close.Are there plenty of tapas bars open?
Can you recommend any good bars?I prefer places that have a relaxing ambience!

Just take a walk down the Cava Baja (street) in the La Latina area, or try Plaza Santa Ana - you will definitely find somewhere in either of those places.
