So when I was in Spain, one day my mother gave me a delicious choclate sandwich, it was just like choclate between two peices of bread. Is there like a choclate mix in a jar(like peanut butter) or whatnot, is this common in Spain or did I just get lucky. Next time I go I plan to bring some of this back.

oh gosh it wasn't nutella was it? Cause I can easily find that here at places like Trader Joe's and what not.

I was going to suggest nutella as well. Hazelnut spread with chocolaty taste... I think Ferello makes it. It was origianally a product of Italy.

In Sicily, the standard way to eat ice-cream is in a roll. And the collazione dulce is a cappucino with a croissant filled with chocolate . . .

I suppose it figures that Italy invented nutella :)

But then who am I as a Scot to be arguing about culinary matters with Italy?

Sometimes when I came home from school in Spain, my mom would give me a chocolate sandwich consisting of a baguette with a chocolate bar inside. Also I would get the chocolate hazlenut spread on a baguette which is very similar to Nutella as sold in the US. In Spain the brand we used was called Nocilla.

Ok, so I got the Nutella, and tried it out. It tasted very similar, i am not sure if it was the same thing. I had the chocolate sandwich at like 3 AM in the Barajas airport. Thanks for helping me out guys!

Nocilla is not the same thing as nutella. Nutella recently arrived in Spain whereas nocilla has been there for all my childhood... I still remember the adevert in telly:
"Leche, cacao, avellanas y azucar... Nocilla!"

I was just about to mention that my wife brings home a little jar of Nocilla every time we return from Spain.
