On Thursday, we're heading off to the Spanish Consulate in Chicago (http://www.consulate-spain-chicago.com/) (6 hours driving) to make application for Spanish passports for my wife and children. It's quite amazing the legal hoops that we've had to to jump through even to get to this point.
Apparently, they've given automatic residency to spouses of Spanish citizens without requiring a visa, beginning this year. At least that's one piece of red tape that we can skip. :)
While we're in Chicago, we're going to check out Café Iberico (http://www.cafeiberico.com/), which seems to be the best Spanish restaurant in Chicago.
