Are there any interesting Art or Photographic exhibitions coming up in Madrid? (sept 2006)

Without doubt, but the trouble is that very little is announced here with much prior warning. I phoned the tourist office yesterday to ask about an event in June and was told they wouldn't know anything until 'a little nearer the time'!

A good place to have a look before your trip is esmadrid.com (http://www.esmadrid.com/)
They usually let you know what's coming up in the weeks ahead. And just make sure you visit the Prado, the Thyssen and the Reina Sofia - they always have great temporary exhibitions.

Photography isn't well represented in Madrid, except for Photoespaña (http://www.phedigital.com/) which has just started and runs through June.
