OK, maybe this belongs under the "Are you interested in Intercambio" section, but that thread is getting large, so here goes....

I work at a university where we use Adobe Breeze. I've set up a meeting room where people can pop in and out and communicate via audio, video, and/or text chat. So if you don't have a headset and mike, you can still participate! It would be a great way for us to "get together" in the virtual world....

I was testing Skypecasts (and still am), and they work OK. But the audio quality of a "Breeze meeting" is supposed to be even better - and I'd like for you fellow "foreros" to help me test it out.

The great part about this is that I don't have to be there to host it! You can come and go as you like! The meeting room is actually available right now (14:30 on June 1), so drop by - I'll be there for the next couple of hours and would enjoy practicing la lengua : )

The URL: http://collaborate.stthomas.edu/r47228947/ If prompted, enter "guest" as username, and no password. Then click on "Enter as Guest," and type in your NFS Forum username. That's it!

Let me know if you're interested so I know how many users to expect. "See" you soon, I hope!

P.S. - I'll be participating in the meeting again tomorrow morning (Friday, June 2) at 7:30 AM CDT (13:30 GMT, 15:30 in Madrid)...but it will be active before then without me...enjoy!

Hi Tom -- I heard you on Breeze, but am still trying to figure out how to reply there via text!!! -- Am at work at the moment ( Uhem.. so I guess anyone who was listening at my door actually heard you ;D) - without access to a mic on my pc. Will need to try again once I"m at home!

Anyway - just wanted to let you know that you came through loud and clear - but I need to sit down with this and figure out some things on my end!

Hey, viajero, you are doing wonderful things! I'm in the UK again til Tuesday but if you set up another one next week I'll try and pop in! Did many people drop by in the end? This sounds like a much better idea than Skype out.

It does seem like it's a better setup than skype. I haven't heard the audio quality yet (no one was there) but it allows audio/visual and textual conversation.

If it could be set up under the notesfromspain.com domain, it would be easier to remember :D

Looks great, I just logged in and checked it out.

The trouble is that it is very expensive once the 15 day trial expires as far as I can see from their site. If their was an open-source equivalent I'd certainly look at putting it under the NFS domain.

Warning: It does not work with Opera. Got in OK with IE.

Friday 1645 Spain time: Just had a chat with Viajero and quality very good. Ability to chat and/or text very useful. We did not establish a video link so it will be interesting to see how that goes one day.
Ain´t technology wonderful!

It was working great for me for about 45 seconds but as luck would have it, my area experienced a power outtage.

Maybe we'll shoot for a minute next time Tom.;D

It is quite expensive - but we already purchased it last year! We (here at the university) should be OK hosting this for a time; I'm checking today to make sure it's alright to leave the site active for a spell.

Fails with my setup of Linux/Firefox, although I did notice some Macromedia icons which I cannot run on my 64 bit PC. Ho hum, maybe I will have to fire up the billbox.

Please... open source software for whatever gets finally selected.

I keep popping in to the meting room but there is no one there, this is a great resource and works really well, shame no one is using it - if you do drop in leave a calling card then viajero will know he has not worked in vain....

I think the best thing would to be to announce a time here in the forum first so that people will know to expect you/people there for a chat.

Intercambio section of the forum coming very soon, which should help...
