Moratalaz

Things are moving along nicely with my planned move to Spain in early September. I'm finishing up my TEFL Certification and I'm hoping to find a job teaching English after I arrive. But the big news is that I already have a room rented and waiting for me when I get there! Naturally, I'm curious about my new home, which is in barrio Moratalaz. Can anyone tell me what it's like? Highlights? Lowlights?

I think it is nice, a very typical Spanish working/middle class barrio, probably built in the 70's, should have some nice local bars! I know a couple of friends that live there, and they are very happy. Good transport links into the center.

Great info, Ben! Everything sounds great, and I'm really looking forward to it. I was listening to some old podcasts the other day, and I must say, they've given me such a great feel for Madrid and Spain in general- which is probably part of the reason I'm so excited now! Thanks!
