In the podcasts, I keep hearing "me cuesta". . . but not in the context of $ . . . Its usually something like

". . . todavía me cuesta entender . . ."

Whats it mean?

I know exactly what it means but it's kind of hard to translate. :confused:

Isn't it meant to convey that a certain activity places a drain or takes considerable effort?

Yes. In Dutch, we say almost exactly the same thing.

Or 'It's hard (for me) to....'

e.g. me cuesta mucho levantarme los viernes- I find it really hard to get up on Fridays

En holandés, se dice: het kost me moeite = me cuesta un esfuerzo. ( literal translation)
