Hola todos
I’m going to Valencia in few weeks, and I am about to buy a notebook. Maybe you could recommend some good online shops with computers, notebooks etc. in Spain.
It would be great if some of them were in Valencia, but it’s not so important. It’s quite important for me, to buy it as quick as possible after my arrival to Valencia, life without a computer scares me ;)

Thank you in advance for your advices!

I'm not sure I understand your query. Are you looking to buy a laptop (portable computer) online or in Valencia?

I would recommend buying a Mac (by Apple) because they are easy to use and never give any problems. www.apple.com.

I wish to buy it in Valencia, but it can be as well online shop from the other part of spain. Shop in Valencia is the best option for me, becasue i could buy it personally and its also the fastest way.

I just need directions to some good, safe, online shops.
Now i know just www.ebay.es

I was thinking about Mac too, but ive decided to stay with windows system, mac is too expensive for me

Media Markt is also a possibility, if you just want to grab one when you get there. They have quite a selection of laptops, both PC and Mac.

I always go for El Corte Ingles superstore for tech products as they have an excellent returns policy. There is a big store near the bus station in Valencia. Macbooks are very good value now, the cheapest is just as cheap as a windows notebook and very very nice.

Vista is crappy? I donīt care for the Home Basic edition, but the Professional versions are excellent.

Let the Mac and Ubuntu zealots commence propaganda now. ;D

I've got the Home Premium and am not a particularly happy bunny (er.. cat). I might even get a Mac next time because I'm using open source stuff with increasing regularity.

Hard to say, lots of little things really. I keep getting messages 'are you sure you want to do this?', the Sidebar doesn't boot up properly and the general layout. There are more things but they only bug me at the time and then I forget about them. Oh yes, Outlook (from XP Pro) won't work properly (it won't save the password) and there are other gadgets (like my newish headphones) that don't have drivers for Vista. Not all Vista's fault, I accept, but I do curse it regularly.

Bear in mind that you have no software to buy for music making/audio editing, cd burning from iTunes, photography, video etc .... If you want WP / Spreadsheet and Presentation software iWork is only €79 (Office comes out a tad dearer!!)

El Corte Inglés, or maybe FNAC? There's one of those by the train station. I never bought electronics there, but it's a good store.

I donīt know about the price of electronics where you are from, but I have noticed that pcs and other accessories related to computing are more expensive than in the States, so I would definitely do some internet comparative shopping before going.

First of all, thank you for your answers

I wish to buy my notebook in USA, you have much better prices there but unfortunately (or not) im from Europe.

Spanish software isn't a problem, because i have free software from my university, so even if i buy it with Vista, i will change the system to XP in my native language. And im also learning Spanish, so it might be a good chance to learn something new and useful ;)

I will think about Mac for sure in the future. I'm working a lot with photoshop, and photoshop has been created for Mac system. But now i just want budget notebook to office work, Internet and communication with my family.

Thanks for these shops, i can compare prices there before going to Spain. I've been looking for this option
