found an "English" pub in Milan to watch the England vs Trinidad game last night. At first glance there were a few Brits already in the pub when I arrived. Then as the game got underway I realised they were cheering for Trinidad. In fact they were even wearing the Trinidad team shirts.

The explanation of course was simple - they were Scottish!!

Have to wonder if Catalans in Barcelona were cheering for the Ukraine the other day when they played Spain???

It is funny that you mention that. Yesterday I saw a telly program called "Caiga quien Caiga" where they comment the political news from a fun point of view and they asked a catalan politician if he supported Spain in the last match and he said that he would support the Catalan team if there was one. So I suppose you are more or less right.

No way dudes. Los catalanes se alegran tanto de las victorias españolas como el resto de los españoles. La gran mayoría se sientes españoles, pero quieren más autonomía porque no quieren que desaparezca su cultura. Entre los mejores jugadores de la selección están Puyol y Xabi. Ambos son catalanes y se dejan la piel en cada partido.
