I spotted this opposite the main Casa del Libro shop in Gran Via:

I'd be very grateful if anyone knows if it is just street graffiti, advertising or other? Looks like the sort of thing you see in Tate Modern, London.

Wow, looks like some form of art to me... I can't see what they are advertising if indeed it is an ad... Great image!

I find it quite fascinating that if these youths could channel their creativity, what great contributions they could make to our culture!

Here is a link to some amazing street art.

The artist's paintings are based on a 17th century illusionistic Baroque style ( called Anamorphism).

Think by the very presence in our society they have made a contribution to our culture, however unorthodox.

I agree with ValenciaSon, though this form of expression may be illegal or considered vandalism, the fact that I'm discussing this particular work from thousands of miles away is a testament to the author's contribution to society.
OK... so I don't know what the hell that work's about, no bother! :D
For those that are interested in graffiti in spanish, I've enjoyed this Flickr group for awhile:

A similar group for Spain alone would be interesting...

Whisper it quietly. I saw artworks that made less sense and with less skill in the Reine Sofia on Sunday!! Most of the works of Joan Miro, for instance.

That graffiti doesn't look worse than Jackson Pollack's work either.
