I am going there with my girlfriend, my sister, and my sisters boyfriend. Obviously a dorm style hostel would be fine, but prefered if there would be some double rooms to crash in for a comparable price.

(If its off the beaten path a little bit i dont mind, im just lookin to spend maybe 20-30 max per person per bed)

anything on Granvia would be cool, or something closer to the Prado would be perfect aswell.

thanks!

I recommend you look at http://30madrid.com/
which has the best offers in town for a hostel, and try to find one of those mentioned in this thread on our forum:

i have just booked into the victoria hostal they have three in the centre of madrid.

i'm staying at puerto del la sol one, it has single double rooms and dorms.

i have booked a single room and it has ensuite bathroom, t.v, air con etc at 37 euros a night.

cannot fully vouch for it yet, but might be worth a look on the web.

Before I moved into my own place I stayed at Los Alpes for a month. The people are very friendly and accomodating (in all senses of the word!). Try and get room 17. It's on the top floor with a view over the rooftops and a terrace!!

Actually, I was wrong about the price. I just checked my res. and it says 32 to 35 euros, depending on the day of the week.

Yes, that's the one. The only thing that troubled me was they kept calling me "Don Richard" and I didn't think I looked that old!!!!!!!!

They are very nice people who seemed to understand my bad Spanish. Over the month I stayed in several rooms as I kept disappering to the English Village and all rooms were clean and comfortable and sometimes the free Wifi worked!!!
