After being in Valencia for Las Fallas, I caught the train to Barcelona to spend the last 2 days of my holiday with a couiple of friends. Here (http://www.flickr.com/photos/stvcr/sets/72057594091146006/)are the pictures. Fairly touristy, because I just wandered around on my own with not much time.

Another great photo set Steve. Barcelona is so photogenic isn't it. I never get tired of looking at Gaudi pics, the colours are so attractive.
I like the photo of what I call the 'gherkin' building as it is a similar structure to one in London - probably same architect. I've heard that building really looks great at night too.

Great Pictures! Will La Sagrada Familia ever get finished? ;D

Great pics, this one (http://www.flickr.com/photos/stvcr/118255893/in/set-72057594091146006/) is my favourite (the statue overlooking the square from up on high) - where was it taken?

A great set of shots, Steve...looks like you made good use of the two days you had in Barcelona! I really like the statue shot (http://www.flickr.com/photos/stvcr/118266268/in/set-72057594091146006/) from the Ciutadella.
Ben, the photo you linked to is taken from Montjuïc, looking down toward Plaza Espanya...it's also really nice on summer nights, when the fountains at the lower right give a special show with lights and music.

Thanks for all the kind comments guys. I'll try and put together a best of set from my time in Valencia last year. I also went to lots of great places such as Bilbao, Vitoria, Pamplona (st. Fermines) and San Sebastian, but all of them after my camera had broken. Doh!

me too, and I'm 95% sure that I am going soon. To Live! Now I just need a job and an apartment. The process is in motion, and I'm leaving my current job at the end of July.

Hope you reach 100% certainty soon Steve and good luck if you do go for it.
I doubt very much you'll regret it!

That's great, Steve! I hope you get the last 5% sorted out soon. If you need a good apartment-hunting site, you might want to check out idealista.com (http://www.idealista.com/), at least to get an idea of the average prices in each area. It came in pretty handy the last time we were searching for an apartment, if for no other reason than to find out which areas we couldn't afford. :)

Its slated for 2012 I think - it has come on in spades in the last five years - it has a roof now and loads more brickwork done and the internal concrete pillars are coming on too
still my favourite place to be

Thanks for that link, Greg. None of the sites I have Googled threw that one up. Now all I want is a buyer for my house in the UK!
