Has anybody got one of the electronic signatures and are they worthwhile?

I was wondering about venturing out to join a queue at the local SUMA office to get the Valencian Community one. Then I read their website about loading the diskette and what software and hardware it would and wouldn't work with. My experience with Spanish computing has not been a particularly happy one and the idea of taking time off work, waiting around in the rain (very wet in Alicante at the moment) to get some ancient sounding software that maybe won't run to finally achieve a "signature" that nobody accepts made me wonder.

When they told us about it recently, as we went painfully through the steps of setting up our company, we thought 'more headaches' and decided to leave it.

I've been watching this as well. Goverment sites won't let you enter many of their pages without one, so downloading some forms, submitting online tax forms or checking on your tax position etc. is impossible (but probably beyond most of us mere mortals anyway - thank God for accountants).
They are slowly implementing more and more online services such as booking doctor appointments, but it seems to be very patchy at present.
According to my SUMA bill, all you have to do is ask at their office for the disc. Next trip there to sort out my 2006 bills  I might give it a go and report back.
